Dog ate your homework?

With some basic obedience training we can make sure you never miss the grade again!

How does it all work?

Here at Up'N'Up Pup, A few common training techniques are applied to help your dog get straight A's...

Balance

Balanced Scale Training Approach

Used to open a line of communication and let your dog know what is and isn’t acceptable, using motivation for when they get confused!

Pup Head

Pinch Collars

A pinch collar helps to provide guidance by recreating the communication methods used by dogs/wolves in the wild. This simulates a small amount of pressure a mother would apply to the neck of a pup.

Collar

E-Collars

The collars used give off no heat or "zap". They apply a minor muscle stimulation which is great for off-leash training.

Praise

Praise and Affection

When used correctly, this can be the greatest tool in training your pup! Dogs want our affection, and by petting and verbally praising your dog I am able to let him or her know when they are doing something great!

First I need to meet you and the pup. I will have some questions so that I can get a better understanding of your situation and goals for the doggie. Based on which I will come up with a plan/options for you. Every dog/situation is different so sometimes I may only offer one training approach.

Right Dog Paw
Left Dog Paw

I can train you to be a trainer in private lessons. These are 1-2 hour sessions where I teach you how to train your dog. Then everyday you will have homework to work on with your pup so that the next time we meet we are ready to expand on the training.

Residency programs are the other options. A 2-3 week vacation where your dog stays with me and I will teach them how to get on the up'n'up. At the end of your visit I will meet with you 4 times to teach you how to maintain everything your pup learned.

Right Dog Paw
Left Dog Paw

After obedience training, those that wish to go into something more specialized. Like getting the dog to get you a beer or find your frisbee when you throw it in the woods. I could definitely take care of those needs but only if I feel the owner is following through with obedience and doing what’s right for the dog!

Tongue Dog

Meet Rufus

Rufus couldn't even sit. Silly dog, I taught that dog Rufus how to sit like the good dog he knows he is!

Shaggy Dog

Or how about Lucky?

Lucky was a freak on a leash. Now hes great on and off the leash. From freak to meek, just like that!

Spotted Dog

This is Spot

Spot kept pooping in the yard. Spots family hated stepping in his poop, so I trained him to poop in the neighbours yard!

"Prior to his training, Finn would run away off leash, jump and bark at visitors, and was very defiant...

When Finn came back from training with a Greg, he was a whole new dog. He still had his playful spirit but was completely obedient . Finn could follow all commands like heel, stay, come and would wait for his next command. Before his training with Greg, our dog was more of a source of stress than enjoyment, but we are happy to say that is now the reverse . We no longer worry about Finn being off leash or if we have guests coming over, he listens to us and we know how to responsibly correct him if needed. We are so grateful to Greg for the time he spent with Finn, and we highly recommend the Up'N'Up Pup!!!"
